The Name Game

Yesterday, I attended the baby shower for one of my favorite people who is having a baby boy in January. She has not decided on a name for the baby yet and at the shower we played a game where we had to write down a name for each letter of the alphabet. As we were discussing our choices, we realized that each name was burdened with an associated personality.

I've redone the game and assigned "personalities" to each name along with her last name which is Colston.

You're welcome, my friend! If anyone has any other suggestions for her along with their associated personalities, feel free to share!

Alexander Colston: He's a fashion designer extraordinaire. A dramatic diva who wears capes because he can and gives air kisses.

Billy Colston: He's a super swell kid who plays baseball, chews bazooka gum, and all he wants for Christmas is a Red Rider BB gun.

Chadwick "Chaddy" Colston:  He's a suave, polo-wearing guy who summers in the Hamptons and wears sweaters tied around his neck on top of his pink Lacoste t-shirt.

Decklan Colston: He's a tall, lanky cute foreign exchange student. He's the kind of guy that you can drink a pint with and share your fish and chips.

Edgar Colston: He's the smart, bookworm-type who while in high school, quietly harbors a crush on the school tramp with a heart of gold. As an adult, he'll write one great achingly beautiful fiction novel and then will disappear from the public for good.

Felix Colston: He's a hipster who will never shop at a chain store and says stuff like "Ciao, Babe," ironically.

Grover Colston: A boy who is wise beyond his years who likes to complain about the good old days. He wears fedoras and prefers the company of adults. (See Manny on Modern Family)

Heathcliff "Heath" Colston: A male model who who is really, really ridiculously good looking. Women faint at his feet and he loves them all. He may or may not be all that bright.

Ira Colston: Woody Allen-type (minus the creepy Soon-Yi daughter-wife) who lives in Brooklyn and likes to complain about how it's never warm or cold enough and wonders why he doesn't understand women.

Jasper Colston: A faux hipster who pretends he doesn't care about anyone or anything but secretly wants to be worshiped and lauded for his expensive clothes and super trendy haircut.

Luke Colston: He's the hot guy who is really popular but secretly wants the quiet, mousy sophomore and eventually kisses her while sitting criss-cross applesauce over her 16th birthday cake.

Maverick Colston: A pilot who likes to play volleyball shirtless along with the song Playing with the Boys by Kenny Loggins. He often feels the need, the need for speed. When he falls for the right girl, he'll serenade her with "You've Lost that Loving Feeling with his best friend Goose who will tragically die in a routine flight mission.

Nigel Colston: He's got a British accent, even though he was born on the East Coast. He's a very friendly chap who thinks every one is "brilliant."

Oliver Colston: He's the patriarch of a soap opera family who while he's had many affairs, can't stay away from his one true love, and long-suffering wife, Eliza Carrington Colston

Parker Colston: He's a mild-mannered, slightly awkward and unkempt reporter who at night becomes a superhero named Jetpack who flies around (wearing a jet pack, duh) and rescues lost carrier pigeons.

Quinn Colston: He's a CIA operative who lives a lonely existence though his conscience sometimes gets in the way of his work.

Randy Colston: He's a gun slinging, rootin' tootin' good ole country boy. He chews tobacco. Workships Toby Keith and Alan Jackson and has Jesus Has Taken The Wheel tattooed on his chest.

Samuel Colston: He's a micro brew manufacturer who lives in Boston and thinks everything is wicked awesome.

Tyler Colston: He's got a hot bod and participates in a secret club that involves beating the s&^t out of other men where the number one rule is to not talk about it.

Upton Colston: He's a child of privilege who attends numerous boarding schools on the East Coast after being thrown out of each one for bad behavior. He'll become a ski instructor in Aspen for awhile before going to work for his dad's company because he's the only one who will hire him.

Vander Colston: He's a pale, brooding type who only likes to be out at night. He's deeply misunderstood by most people so he writes a lot of poetry to express himself. He may or may not be a vampire.

Westley Colston: He has a long blond ponytail and wears long flowy white open-chested shirts. He'd believes deeply in true love and fair maidens and his favorite saying is "As you wish."

Xerxes Colston: He's a leader who is also strong as an ox. No one will ever mess with him.

Ylvis Colston: He wants to know what the fox says, and loves to make avant-garde videos of himself wearing weird costumes. In his high school yearbook, he'll be voted most likely to reach a billion YouTube hits in less than a year.

Zeke Colston: He's looking for gold (and love) in all the wrong places. He's a prospector who travels the world looking for rare gems and minerals.
